All About Us Here at Cotton Top Silkies
Hey Y’all, I am Nicole and I operate Cotton Top Silkies, LLC with help from my husband and three sons. We are a small Silkie farm located in beautiful Amelia, Virginia. Our farm is rural and surrounded by many acres of fields and woods. We started our first flock many years ago mostly for tick control. Chickens became our answer because they eat ticks. Our first flock was a multi-breed flock, but the adorable docile Silkie quickly became my favorite breed.

We Do What We Love
We love our chickens, and our first priority is to give our chickens their best life! We generally only sell chicks and hatching eggs. This is because we have found our chickens acclimate better when you raise them from an early age. Environmental changes for chickens tend to be a bit scary for them. We all want eggs and happy chickens equals eggs!
Small Hatchery Charm
We found it challenging to find somewhere to purchase new Silkies. We decided to make Cotton Top Silkies the type of business we were searching for! Cotton Top Silkies will always be a small hatchery therefore we can offer special attention and care to our chickens. All of our chickens have names and are part of the Cotton Top Silkies Family!
